Overview
Our surgeons at the Plastic Surgery Center are experts at performing eyelid surgery for our patients in the New Jersey and Manhattan area. Many patients arrive at our practice with heavy, drooping upper eyelids or puffy bags beneath the eyes that can make them look tired or older than they really are. For these patients, eyelid surgery can restore a more youthful, alert appearance by removing excess skin and fat from the eyelids. Eyelid surgery can also help improve vision if sagging eyelids are interfering with sight.
At the Plastic Surgery Center in New Jersey we see patients of various ages that have concerns about their eyelids. Whereas older patients generally have age-related eyelid changes that occur as a result of normal aging, excessive sun exposure, and smoking, younger men and women in their twenties and thirties are seen with concerns about eyelid puffiness that is often the result of inherited traits.
Regardless of the cause, a comprehensive evaluation by one of the Plastic Surgery Center's skilled plastic surgeons will be able to determine if you are a candidate for eyelid surgery.

Consultation
We offer complimentary consultations at any of our New Jersey and Manhattan locations to patients interested in eyelid surgery. You will meet with one of our experienced plastic surgeons to discuss your particular concerns and determine if eyelid surgery could benefit you. At the consultation you will be able to ask all of the questions you may have regarding eyelid surgery, and see before- and after- pictures of other patients who have previously undergone eyelid surgery at the Plastic Surgery Center.
Many of the patients we see at the Plastic Surgery Center have multiple concerns about their eyelids, including excess skin, puffy bags, dark circles under the eyes, and wrinkles. Because our plastic surgeons are skilled at all forms of eyelid surgery they can formulate a treatment plan that is specific for your particular condition, perhaps combining one or more blepharoplasty methods.
Procedure
For patient convenience we are able to perform eyelid surgery at our own, fully certified surgical facility in New Jersey. The facility is staffed by a board-certified anesthesiologist, registered nurses, and certified surgical technicians to provide patients with a safe, professional, discrete environment to have eyelid surgery.
The eyelid or blepharoplasty procedure usually involves making an incision in the upper eyelid crease to remove excess skin. Depending on the particulars of the eyelid condition, the surgeon may remove excess muscle and fat as well. Eyelid surgery for the lower eyelid usually involves removing excess fat to reduce the puffy bags, and can often be performed without any visible scars. On occasion, our surgeons will remove excess skin from the lower eyelids or perform a laser treatment to the lower eyelids to reduce the appearance of dark circles.
At the Plastic Surgery Center of New Jersey eyelid surgery is often combined with other facial cosmetic surgery procedures such as browlifts or facelifts to restore a youthful balance to the face.
If you are interested in eyelid surgery to reverse the signs of facial aging please contact the Plastic Surgery Center of New Jersey and Manhattan to schedule a complimentary consultation with one of our expert eyelid surgeons.
